Why We Support Every Child Counts

Dear Lyn,

Thank you very much for the consistent progress reports on the new Training and Employment Center!  We are very pleased and excited site work has been completed on schedule and construction of Starfish Enterprises is about to begin!

We chose to be involved with this project for several reasons:

Each of the past few years we have been dropping off supplies on our way to Elbow Key from New Jersey.  Each time we visit ECC we find your school bustling with activity, always with a sense of organization and calm.  The challenging population you serve all seemed to appreciate what is being done for them.  They obviously want to be there.

This group of young people would have nowhere to turn without ECC, and for that we are grateful. Their caregivers at home are also provided the opportunity to lead productive lives. What a relief to know they can work as their children’s capabilities are explored and expanded by the amazing team at ECC.  We are in awe of your successes, and all of the people who make them happen day after day.

Most importantly, within many charities our contribution would be an overlooked entry on a ledger, fuel for a bureaucracy.  Giving to ECC under the watchful eyes of the Archdiocese gives us the opportunity to be significant toward progressive change.  The new center will prevent ECC’s most challenged students from ageing out of ECC’s  culture and resources.  Your young adults and their caregivers will be able to find rightful places in society for the long haul.  To just “send them home” would be an incomplete mission.

As entrepreneurs ourselves, we absolutely love the Starfish Enterprise concept.  We hope to continue our partnership with you, your staff and the young adults who will make this happen.  Lyn, your work has provided us with a wonderful opportunity, thank you.
